Safety at Sea (SAS) magazine has partnered with maritime training company Green Jakobsen to give its subscribers access to 12 modules from Safety Delta; an online training tool designed to build a proactive safety culture on board vessels.
Safety Delta provides crew with practical tools to encourage a proactive, rather than reactive, safety culture to improve risk management, safety leadership and health and wellbeing. The training is built around five key safety behaviours: intervention, influence, integration, insight and innovation.
Each month SAS subscribers will be able to access a module of Safety Delta training provided by Green Jakobsen that will include topics such as hazard identification, risk assessment practices, stopping unsafe acts, situational awareness, fatigue management and how to encourage crew to speak up about safety risks.
Each module will contain a training brief, a poster, animation and a training exercise. Green Jakobsen will also write a training article in the monthly magazine discussing the theory behind each module. Plus, subscribers will be able to listen to regular Green Jakobsen training webinars hosted on the Safety at Sea website.
All SAS subscribers will be sent an email this week to receive links and login details to access the Safety Delta training. If you do not receive your email contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Any queries regarding access to Safety Delta contact email@example.com.
